Kirk Brown

Region Five Engineer, Illinois Department of Transportation

Kirk Brown began serving as Region Five Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in April 2022, having more than 30 years of professional experience in Construction and Preliminary Engineering, designing and building highway improvements. Region Five consists of 27 southern Illinois counties including the Metro-east and employs nearly 900 full time employees.  With construction projects exceeding $800 million annually, it engages design and construction professionals to improve and maintain over 3,400 highway miles and 1,780 bridges on the state system. When not working with his IDOT team, Kirk enjoys time with family, travelling and sports activities.
