Shayne Gill
Program Director for Multimodal Transportation, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials
Shayne Gill is the program director for multimodal transportation at the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) where he has worked for 16 years. He is the liaison for AASHTO’s Council on Aviation, which has primary jurisdiction on aviation policy and is the lead on coordination of state departments of transportation use of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS). Gill also serves as AASHTO’s liaison for the Council on Public Transportation (transit policy development) and the Council on Rail Transportation (freight and passenger rail policy development). Gill’s Multimodal Team also focuses on the Council on Water, Special Committee on Freight (all modal movement of freight) and oversees two AASHTO technical service programs for transit management and rail management. Prior to joining AASHTO Gill worked in policy and government relations, including almost 12 years on Capitol Hill and three years with a private firm.
